Dan’s Taste of Two Forks Host
Lauren Scala serves as the traffic reporter on NBC 4 New York’s Today in New York weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. She also hosts Listen Up, NBC 4’s digital news show available on Instagram Stories. Born and raised on Long Island, Scala reports on the roads and rails she's been traveling her entire life. She recognizes the responsibility that comes with traffic reporting during the morning commute and is always working to bring viewers the latest and most accurate information.
Lauren is also an Emmy award-winning features reporter for the daily lifestyle show New York Live where she is often seen reporting on and enjoying the latest and greatest food trends and local restaurants. Her dining segments also appear on Taxi TV in a weekly segment called Backseat Bites. Scala officially joined NBC 4 New York in 2010 to host the station's Interactive Trivia Game, a fast-paced, live experience made up of ten questions, where local viewers compete against one another on various topics by using their cell phones, computers, and touch screen devices. Before taking on that role, Lauren had appeared on the program regularly as an on-air contributor for Time Out New York magazine.
Scala graduated from Fordham University in 2004, where she studied Communications. She truly prides herself on being a local. She knows New York—how to navigate it and where to find the best of everything the Big Apple has to offer. Scala currently lives in Manhattan.
